This sculpture refers to the cycles of growth and decay in nature. The open spaces between the ribs give the form a fragile, almost dissolving character, as if it has slowly been shaped by the sea and time. The rib structure creates a rhythm reminiscent of shells, corals, and fossil remains. The glaze enhances the play of light and shadow and emphasizes the layered skin of the surface.
