Marga Niederer van Huizen

Who am I?

I was born in Rotterdam in 1964 and grew up in Tholen, Zeeland. As a child, I was always outside, happily walking barefoot through the mudflats. I'd always come home covered in mud - and I loved it.
From the age of 26, I spent 18 years traveling, both within the Netherlands and around the world. Along the way, I explored various art techniques.
Since early 2007, I've been living in Hilversum. The moving boxes were barely unpacked when I started taking sculpting classes with Christie Rusche. Before long, I wanted to learn everything I could about clay. In 2011, I began a three-year ceramics program at the SBB in Gouda, followed by an additional year of study.
I now teach classes and workshops in my own studio.
You could say that clay has truly stuck with me.
